When You Go To Heaven - What Happens?

Probably 98% of Christians believe that when they die they will go to heaven. I'm sure that reading through all this material on Spirits At Rest has not changed your mind. So, naturally you want to know what your experience in heaven will be like.

(Bible verses, KJV, are in red beneath the questions.)

Will you stand before Christ to be judged? Evidently not. That will have to wait until Christ returns.

2Tim. 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Will you sing praises to the Lord? Too bad, it doesn't look that way.

Psa. 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
Psa. 13:3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
Psa. 63:4 Thus will I bless thee while I live; I will lift up my hands in thy name.
Psa 104:33 I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
Psa. 115:17 The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.
Psa. 146:2 While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
2Cor. 1:14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.
1Thes. 2:19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

Will you have praise of God? Well, maybe this means something else.

1Cor. 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Dan. 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Will you receive your crown, your reward? Will you be rewarded for the good you have done?
No, you may have to wait for that.

Isa. 40:10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
Mat. 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
John 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
1Thes. 2:19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
2Tim. 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Rev. 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Will you meet those that have departed before you? Perhaps not.

Psa. 143:3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
2Cor. 1:14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

Will you have a spiritual body? It seems not.

1Cor. 15:42-43 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

Will you be in darkness? Surely not! But, on the other hand.

Psa. 143:3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
Lam 3:6 In dark places He has made me dwell, Like those who have long been dead. (NASB)

Eph. 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

My! Wow! It seems you won’t be able to do very much in heaven. Can anyone point me to a scripture that tells all the going-to-heaven believers what they will be doing there?
